This past week, FEMA sponsored a training in one of the North Eastern states. The topic was disaster preparation. What follows are items of interest from this training:
- Pandemic flu was widely discussed as one of the coming threats. Upcoming mock drills will feature this type of incident.
- FEMA workers are being issued tracking cards which will be used to enter/exit disaster sites. Full biometric info will be contained and recorded when scanning in and out. These will be the first of such cards in use by this state's government. It is a trial run.
- Staff is expected to report each others' behavior. Specifically those who attempt to assert themselves over governmental orders. If you side with the populace you will be removed from duty.
